PortAB is a crowdsourced inter-city delivery app that connects individuals sending lightweight packages with willing travelers. It offers an efficient, cost-effective solution for package delivery, featuring easy delivery requests, real-time tracking, and seamless communication between customers and volunteers. PortAB enhances the delivery experience while fostering community connections and allowing travelers to earn extra income.
It provided hands-on experience in UX/UI design, where I collaborated with cross-functional teams and refined my design skills in a dynamic startup environment.
Design Approach
I began by understanding the project brief and identifying challenges in the inter-city delivery process. Through competitor analysis, I explored similar platforms to uncover opportunities for PortAB to offer a more cost-effective solution. I then mapped the activities involved in the process and designed a user flow for seamless delivery requests, tracking, and communication. The final design focused on creating an intuitive experience that fosters community engagement and allows travelers to earn extra income.
Learnings from the Project
Through this project, I learned how to manage time and make design decisions considering time constraints. I was able to produce the final product but it would be good if I had more time so that I could test with users.
Users are the center of any app designing strategy and it is not easier to design an app without their feedback. It would be more helpful for me if I could ask more users and get to know their experiences during the research phase.
